ChimneySweep® is easy to set up and use, even if you are not a database expert. The point-and-click “Job Editor” tool walks you through the entire process of defining a new job, step-by-step. (The same process can be used at any time thereafter to change it.)
ChimneySweep has many options, but we've automatically selected the ones that you probably want, so if you just select all of the defaults you should be fine in most cases.
Each and every page of the Job Editor has full context-sensitive online help to guide you every step of the way.
Once you have set up a particular job, all the user has to do is double-click once to start it running. The job will run start-to-finish to carry out its assigned task with no further human intervention, no matter how large or small the task might be. One table or five hundred, one database or fifty, it makes no difference to ChimneySweep. (And yes, there are a great many ChimmeySweep jobs that are “that big.”)
ChimneySweep was designed by database experts, so that you don't have to be one, and so that you don't have to give your users complicated technical explanations. All that they have to do is run the job (unless you've arranged for the job to run automatically). The job contains all the “explanation” is needed, and you can be confident that ChimneySweep will carry out your instructions precisely, each and every time.
As you will see as you continue to browse this site, there's a lot of technical sophistication in this product, but we've done our best to keep it out of sight. Instead, we remain focused upon this:
