Runtime Edition licenses are also required for each deployment (“per seat”) when ChimneySweep functionality is embedded into your custom application using the tools provided with Professional Edition.
The job-execution behavior of Runtime Edition is exactly the same as with the other Editions.

ChimneySweep Runtime Edition is often used to let you put a “fix this!” icon right on the user's desktop when they install your custom product. All you have to do is link the icon to the ChimneySweep job that you've installed on their system. When they click the icon, ChimneySweep does the rest.
Most of the time, the problem fixes itself. In those few cases where it doesn't, ChimneySweep's job-output will tell you exactly what went wrong ... in the precise technical terms that you need to understand the problem. Your technicians can therefore respond much more quickly to get your customer's database back on-line.
Because Runtime Edition won't let your users define their own jobs or modify the ones you've built for them, you always know exactly what will happen. Furthermore, your secret database-passwords remain safely concealed within your jobs. If you ship the jobs in “delivered” form, there's no source-code to inspect either, even with a binary file-editor.
